The UHF receiver and microphone are both powered by one (in each) AA 1.5V battery and you can use the microphone up to 30 meters away from the receiver and operates at a high frequencies ranging between 700-870Mhz. You can also add an optional Body Pack with either Headset or Lapel Microphone so you can be hands free which will operate on the same frequency as the hand held microphone so you can only use one or the other at the same time.
